(Illegal Use Of Trash Cans)

All City of Inglewood residents must follow refuse collection regulations regarding the proper use/placement of trash cans. Failure to do so could result in a citation. It is important to follow the regulations so that street sweeping can occur without interruption. Some things to keep in mind are:

 

1) Do not place trash cans on the street. This prevents our street sweepers from cleaning our streets properly.

 

2) Do not place trash cans on the street to try and reserve parking.

 

3) Vehicles cannot be parked on the street before the time designated on the posted sign in your area (citations will be issued).

 

4) Trash containers must be stored out of public view.

City Of Inglewood Speed Hump Application

The City of Inglewood is committed to policies and actions that can foster and promote traffic calming measures whenever necessary to maximize pedestrian safety, minimize nonessential vehicular traffic on residential streets, and/or slow vehicles to an appropriate speed. One possible means to accomplish these three goals is a "roadway vertical deflection device" which is commonly known as a SPEED HUMP.

 

Speed humps and other pavement undulations are not approved traffic-control devices as defined in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the official document establishing which roadway devices may be readily installed on public streets. Instead, a speed hump is considered to be a geometric "design feature" within the roadway that must be designed, installed, and maintained based on prudent engineering judgment and supported by a sufficient study of its need--to avoid property damage, personal injury, or other possible civil liabilities. Therefore, all pertinent federal and state laws governing roadway safety will be considered in the design and positioning of any speed hump or other traffic calming measures.
